New to Reformer Pilates?
Are you thinking about trying your first Pilates class but not quite sure what to expect? Starting something new can feel a little scary, but we promise, you’re in the right place. Our studio is welcoming, supportive and designed to help you feel comfortable from the very first minute you walk in.
Here’s everything you need to know before your first class, so you can arrive relaxed and confident.
What You’ll Need
- Grip socks are required (and available for purchase in the studio).
They give you extra grip and stability on the reformer and are more hygienic, too. - Wear comfortable workout clothes.
Please avoid clothing with zippers, buckles or sharp details that could damage the equipment or feel uncomfortable during your workout. - Have (medium) long hair?
Bring a hair tie so you can move freely without distractions. - Bonus Tip: Don’t forget your water bottle. Staying hydrated is important!

Before Your Class
- Arrive on time.
The studio opens 10-12 minutes before the class starts. - First time with us?
Please come 5 minutes early so we can welcome you, get you settled, and give you a short introduction to the reformer. - Leave jewelry at home (or remove it before class starts) for your comfort and safety.
- Have an injury or something we should know about?
Let your instructor know before class so they can offer options or adjustments just for you.
During Your Class
- Breathe, move, and enjoy.
This is your time. You don’t need to be perfect, flexible or experienced, just show up and do your best. Our instructors will guide you through everything and offer variations if needed. Everyone starts somewhere and we’re here to support you every step of the way.
After Your Class
- Clean your reformer and any props you used with the cloth and spray provided.
- Leave your reformer neat and ready for the next person: Move settings back to 1, should you have changed them, take all springs off

Still feeling a little nervous?
That’s totally normal and also a great sign that you’re about to try something new for yourself. You don’t need to be “fit enough” or “flexible enough” to start Pilates. You just need to start. We’ll take care of the rest.
